NO COUPLES Sees adults only age 18+ Hi I’m Paula, thank you for taking the time to read my profile. Looking for a counsellor can be a daunting experience and finding the right counsellor for you is a very important decision. One of the most important parts is finding a counsellor you ‘click’ with. My approach to therapy is to be a calm, compassionate presence, down to earth but also practical. We often want practical tools and knowledge to help make changes or face life’s ups and downs. I aim to help you learn about yourself, process how you feel, cope better and find new ways to move forward. As a trauma counsellor I have worked with adults on a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, intimacy, self-esteem, self-confidence, stress, anger, loss and more. My approach is tailored to your needs as we explore together what the barriers are to you reaching your goals and of living a life with more peace and contentment. Coming to therapy is a courageous step, but it doesn’t only have to be at times of crisis. You may want support to understand yourself and others better, help managing anxiety, have faced a recent difficult issue, or be curious about how you respond to situations in your life. I welcome you to reach out and we can discuss your hopes for having counselling. Qualifications Masters degree in Counselling Registered with NCPS

Kate H.

NO COUPLES OFFERS ONLINE THERAPY ONLY Hi, hello and welcome. I’m Kate, a person-centred, relational therapist. I work with adults and young people (16+), and I offer online therapy sessions for your ease & comfort. I have significant experience working with trauma related to domestic abuse, which often involves themes of low confidence, self-esteem, guilt and shame, anxiety, and depression. My goal is to provide a warm and non-judgemental space where you can explore difficult feelings and experiences and feel truly understood. You and your experience are always at the heart of our work, we will go at your pace and stay with what feels important for you. I believe that while we are all equal and valuable, we may need different things at different times. One session, you may want to offload the stresses of the week; another, you might want support with managing anxiety, or we might explore past experiences that are affecting your present life. There may be tears, and anger may show up too, but there will also be moments of laughter and the rediscovery of joy. Therapy is a process, and all of the work we do together matters. The therapeutic relationship is central to my practice. I believe deeply in the healing power of kindness, connection, and validation. By creating a sense of safety and trust, my hope is that you can be yourself and that together we can build a relationship that supports self-compassion and helps you flourish. Qualification: Foundation Degree (FdSc) in Counselling & Psychotherapy Registered Member – BACP

NO COUPLES Sees adults 18 upwards Hi, I’m Catherine. Seeking help can be daunting. You may be asking questions, for example: Do I need counselling? What can counselling do for me? How long will I have to have counselling for? Is this counsellor going to be right for me? It is only natural to have questions when embarking on a new journey. Speaking to a prospective counsellor can help alleviate concerns and be a good way to gauge if you feel they are someone you could work with. I work in a person-centred way using listening and reflection to help you make sense of where certain thoughts, feelings and behaviours may stem from. Also, by asking the right questions in the right places, I can help you to explore why you behave, think and feel they way you do in your relationships, working, social and family life. Counselling sessions are always conducted in a quiet and confidential space. They typically last for 50 minutes. There is no pressure to commit to long or short term therapy, this can be regularly reviewed to ensure you feel you are getting the best from your sessions.

NO COUPLES Sees children and young people aged 11 to 24 I was born and raised in Trinidad. I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Psychology in my home country which led to travelling for a year. During a summer internship in Ireland, I worked on a farm where I found my passion for working alongside animals. I knew that I also wanted to help young people, hence gained a Master’s in Counselling Children and Young People at the University of Northampton, England. During my dissertation research on how animals facilitated the therapeutic relationship between the client and therapist, I found an internship in New York, where a residential treatment facility practiced Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT).  Interning at Green Chimneys has allowed me the opportunity of gaining knowledge and experience of working with children and young people alongside the assistance of animals such as dogs, equines and farm animals. As an integrative therapist registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work with a variety of techniques: animal-assisted therapy, talk therapy, and creative therapy. It all depends on what the client responds best to and which method will be most effective. Qualifications MSC in Counselling Children and Young People

I was a Samaritan for five years, and during this time began my counselling studies. In August 2014 I completed my Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. I have in excess of eight years working for a local mental health charity, where I started as a Counselling Volunteer. I then became a fully qualified Counsellor, before becoming the Lead Counsellor. I have recently formed my own Private Practice where I have full autonomy to support my clients using my knowledge and experience. I understand how difficult it can be to know where to start and to make the right move into seeking help and support. Life is not always straightforward, feeling overwhelming and confusing at times. It may be yourself, or perhaps a loved one who is struggling with a life event, or difficult emotional issue. Finding the right counsellor is important in order to feel comfortable enough to share, whilst knowing you will be accepted and not judged. The importance of being heard and understood is very powerful and forms a large part of the therapy. My strength is in the ability to build a deep and meaningful therapeutic relationship with another individual. I will work with you at your pace on the issues that you want to raise and are struggling to make sense of. You decide how many sessions you would like. I am here to help; whether it’s something that is happening in your life right now or events from the past that are continuing to affect you. It requires a huge amount of courage to ask for help or to seek assistance and support, especially from a stranger. Sometimes working with someone who we do not have an emotional attachment to is exactly what we need to start to make sense of what we are feeling and is happening in our lives.

I deliver a ” Person Centred” approach to counselling in order that you can:

  • Make the decisions that you feel are right for you
  • Better manage and talk about your emotions
  • Know that you have been listened to and heard
  • Build mutual trust and openness with others
  • Feel valued and accepted for who you are without being judged
  • Move towards an increased understanding of who you are and what you can offer the world

I strongly believe that you are the expert of your own life, no-one else. I am a fully trained counsellor and have spent many years within different organisations supporting people with a range of difficulties. We will work in a safe space and at a pace that you are comfortable with.

As many of my clients suffer severe anxiety or serious illness, leaving them unable to travel, I provide home counselling for a £5.00 call-out fee, which will differ according to distance, in addition to the £45.00 counselling charge.

Sometimes life can be difficult to cope with and saying what’s in our minds can be even harder. You may feel empty, hopeless or even depressed. Counselling can help you to talk about your worries and deal with what is causing your emotional pain. My aim is to offer you a relaxed, warm and non-judgmental space where you feel at ease to talk, and together understand the root of your problems, thereby finding solutions towards a happier life.

The modality of my practice is based on Person-Centred approach but I have also trained in Transactional Analysis (TA) and use it on an integrative way. I believe that the individual has the power and autonomy to direct their own life and the counsellor’s role is to facilitate this self-discovery. I have experience in a range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, hardship, relationships, loss, grief and other issues. I also have experience in preparing and delivering workshops to bereaved children and teenagers, also one-to-one counselling.

In addition to the above, I can offer therapeutic counselling in fluent Portuguese and conversational Spanish.

I have an inherently caring and nurturing disposition and my reflective nature and listening capabilities have led me to become a qualified counsellor. I hold a Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling which incorporates psychodynamic theory that deals with helping a client unravel deep-rooted issues from the past in order to resolve the impact it is having on them in the present, and person-centred theory where the clients focuses on changing the skewed perception he or she may have of themselves with a view to become the best person that they can be.

I have over 4 years experience working at Northampton Rape Crisis Centre, helping people with issues such as eating disorders, low self-esteem etc. I find the integrative approach most suitable as it allows me to adapt theory to suit the client. I am very passionate about my work and helping others to resolve internal conflicts. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and pride myself in maintaining a high standard of professionalism by complying with the ethical codes of conducts set by the BACP.

NO COUPLES Sees adults and young people (13+ years) We can’t always control what happens to us and often when life gets difficult we are left feeling unable to cope. I have found this at various times in my life and found that counselling helped me. I believe the most important step when choosing a counsellor is finding someone you feel comfortable talking to. I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and can offer you a safe, warm and supportive space for you to talk freely. We can explore your worries and difficulties in a way that is not always possible with family and friends. These counselling sessions can help re-balance feelings of wellbeing, so you feel more able to cope with life and look forward to your future. You can’t change the past, but I can help you make sense of what you have experienced and help you to move towards your future in a more positive way.

I have experience in many areas including Relationship problems, Anxiety, Depression and Loss and Bereavement, Sexual abuse and Trauma.  I work with young people regarding anxiety, life changes, self-harm, relationship issues and panic attacks.  I am passionate about the benefits of counselling and the positive changes that good therapy triggers.  I also work with many clients who are off work with stress and use C.B.T. and Solution focused methods to bring about change.  We all experience challenges throughout our lives.  Talking to a caring, professional counsellor, in a neutral capacity and in a safe environment can really make a difference. I offer a non-judgmental and confidential service and will help you to assess what your goals are and look at how you can work towards them.

I have worked at a Cancer Charity helping families and people who are affected by cancer and worked for Relate helping clients to move forward.  Problems include affairs, communication, loss of intimacy, life changes and family issues.  I have also worked for an agency which offers counselling for clients regarding Anxiety and Panic Attacks.
